Hi! I’m Amy

I’m a mental health therapist who provides individual therapy to adults in North Carolina!

I was born and raised in NC and completed my social work graduate degree at UNC Chapel Hill. During school I completed two internships through Duke and then went on to work at a community mental health center after graduating. I have 6 years of experience working as a licensed therapist in a variety of settings, and I love to do what I do.

In my time outside the therapy space, you can most likely find me at the gym or hanging out with my fiancé and our two dogs. I love just about everything fitness related, but particularly strength training and learning new skills and tricks like pull-ups or handstands. I also love hot yoga and find that space to be very healing.

I have a deep understanding of therapy after being through years of therapy myself. I teach concepts that I practice regularly myself!

Education and Credentials

I went to Franklin and Marshall College for my undergraduate degree where I studied Neuroscience and Psychology. After school I took some time to do some self-discovery before applying to graduate school and eventually going to UNC School of Social Work where I specialized in direct practice. I did both my internships through Duke, one through their case management program and another with their CBT focused program where I was first exposed to Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Over the course of my career, I have come to specialize in different types of CBT; including ACT and DBT and find that a mindfulness based practice can work wonders.

Over the course of my career, I have worked as a therapist at Carolina Outreach, as a faculty member at UNC and as a therapist at Lyra Health.

My background is working with adults, treating anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, interpersonal issues, and many other additional issues that crop up.

I embrace working with a diverse population and am LGBTQ+ affirming.

I am a fully licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina as well as being licensed to provide Telehealth therapy in Florida.
